My work is about life processes and exploring human relationships and the human condition. I'm influenced by my own personal life, those around me, other artists, and my immediate environment. Recently my paintings have become more semi-abstract and figurative: the latter having resulted from the practice of doing lots of life drawings, still life and landscape studies. This new focus has given my work more energy, positivity and depth. I think it has made it more accessible to the viewer. My own life's journey is a metaphor for my artistic journey, as I have developed as an individual so has my work.
